Frequently asked questions

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound with Beautiful Beginnings 3D Imaging must already be receiving treatment with a healthcare provider for prenatal care and have already undergone a medical, diagnostic ultrasound ordered by their provider to confirm their due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and/or to look for any other pregnancy related issues. Our employees are not responsible to provide any diagnostic scans to confirm heartbeat, the number of babies in the pregnancy, the position of the baby or the placental location.

NO. Since 3D/4D Ultrasounds is an elective ultrasound, and not something that is required for your care, insurance companies do not cover this ultrasound session. Therefore, this will be an out of pocket expense.

We can determine gender as early as 15 weeks.  3D images can start as early as 27 weeks although the best images are usually captured between 27 – 32 weeks .  We offer multiple session packages so you can see the growth of your baby over the span of your pregnancy.

Yes, make sure you drink plenty of water throughout your pregnancy. 1 hour before coming in for your appointment please eat a high calorie meal and 10 minutes before your session drink a bottle of cold water or if allowed , orange juice. Please bring snacks just in case baby is sleeping and needs sugar to be woken up.

All of our techs are Certified Sonographers.

Depending on the package you choose, the Ultrasound session will last between 10 to 20 minutes.

Although sometimes the positioning of your baby can make it more difficult to get that perfect picture, our experience in ultrasound will help increase the chances for the best imaging possible. All of our skilled sonographers have an abundance of experience in detailed obstetrical scanning. Please notify the technician during your session if you are not happy with the imaging so we can offer options.

This is the most important question to ask. Ultrasound has been used safely in obstetrics since the 1950s. There have been no confirmed adverse biological effects to mothers or their babies caused by exposure from ultrasound sound waves. However, it is critical that an experienced certified sonographer does your ultrasound and that you feel comfortable with the knowledge and expertise of the facility that’s providing the service. Many women have multiple ultrasounds during their pregnancy with no negative effect on the baby. Many women experience High Risk pregnancies and it is not at all unusual for them to have weekly ultrasounds in their pregnancies.  We also had 3d ultrasounds with our own children 14 years ago and regularly perform 3d ultrasounds for many family and friends.

The 2D (2 dimensional) image is the flat black and white picture that looks like an outline or skeletal image of your baby that you get at your diagnostic ultrasound. The 3D (3 dimensional) image will look more realistic, like a detail photograph of your baby. The 4D (4 dimensional) uses the 3D technology to view your baby in “live motion”  which is real time video.

We encourage you to bring your family and friends of 4-6 guest including children to share this magical moment with you while everyone watches the “Newest Star” on our large flat screen T.V.
